Recommended Posts

North Carolina State Raleigh

No harm trying but warning - you might want to push back a year before trying out for college. ie. Give yourself an extra year to get used to the culture, environment, and obviously, improve your English. Good luck

well.... it might be even harder with US passport since you can't expect the school to treat you "specially" and lower the bars. (although I doubt they would do this to F-1 students.)

Anyway, trying to get into medical school is like another harsh battle, in which you literally step on the bodies in order to march ahead. It's cruel, but you'll have to get used to that. Plus, I don't think it would be easy to get into medical school in the US if you consider getting into medical school in Taiwan already something not that possible for you.

well,

for one thing,

it is IMPOSSIBLE for people to finish college education outside of US/Canada to get into medical school in the US without taking some class or even redo their undergraduate education as there are requirements for people to take courses or even get a diploma from a US university.

Also, premed is not something you go for 7 years to get MD. In fact, it only contains a few requirements you have to satisfy before you can apply to med school or even take the MCAT.

you are right about one thing that some schools have a 7-8 year program that gives people BS/BA and MD upon completion. Nonetheless, it is not easy either. In fact, that's the combination of your undergraduate education and your medical school education and sometimes you are even required to invest more of your time into it. So it is still HEAVY.
